HVAC Maintenance & AC Tune-Ups

In Florida your AC works almost all year. A tune-up catches small problems before they turn into a breakdown on the hottest day of summer.

Quick answer

Fortex Air Vent Cleaning Service provides AC tune-ups and HVAC maintenance for homes in Port St. Lucie and across the Treasure Coast, including coil cleaning, condensate drain line cleaning and filter replacement. Call (772) 677-8038.

What our tune-up covers

  • Coil cleaning. Dirty evaporator and condenser coils cause weak cooling, high bills and musty smells.
  • Condensate drain line flush and drain pan check, to prevent overflows and water damage.
  • Air filter replacement with the right size and rating for your system.
  • Refrigerant levels and system temperatures checked.
  • Electrical check of capacitors, contactors and connections.
  • Blower and fan motors inspected.
  • Thermostat tested for correct operation.
  • Supply and return vents checked for airflow and dust buildup.

How often should a Florida AC be serviced?

Most manufacturers recommend at least one professional service a year. With our long cooling season, twice a year (spring and fall) is a good habit, especially for older systems, homes with pets, or homes near the coast where salt air is hard on outdoor units.

Air filter replacement

A clogged filter is the most common cause of poor airflow and frozen coils. Most homes should change a standard 1-inch filter every 1 to 3 months. We'll put in the right size and tell you how often to change it.

Thermostat installation

Upgrading to a programmable or smart thermostat can make your home more comfortable and cut runtime. We install and set it up, and show you how to use it. See HVAC installation for full system replacements.

Fortex cleaned our dryer vent quite nicely. There was quite a bit of lint buildup, and they did a thorough job cleaning it out. The dryer seems to be getting better airflow now. Good service and easy to work with.

So here's what happened. I'd been putting off dryer vent cleaning for way too long. Finally got to the point where I couldn't ignore it anymore. Called around to a few air duct places and most either didn't pick up or gave me a vague quote …

FAQ

HVAC Maintenance & Tune-Up questions

How often should my AC be serviced in Florida?

At least once a year, and twice a year (spring and fall) is ideal given our long cooling season.

How often should I change my AC filter?

Most standard 1-inch filters should be changed every 1 to 3 months. Homes with pets or allergies should change them more often.

What does coil cleaning do?

Clean coils transfer heat properly, so the system cools faster, runs less and is less likely to freeze up or smell musty.
