AC problems we fix

  • AC not cooling or blowing warm air. Often a failed capacitor, a low refrigerant charge or a dirty coil.
  • AC won't turn on. Capacitors, contactors, fan motors, tripped float switches and thermostat problems.
  • Water leaking from the air handler. Usually a clogged condensate drain line, very common in Florida's humidity.
  • Frozen evaporator coil. Caused by low airflow, a dirty filter or low refrigerant.
  • Strange noises or short cycling. Worn motors, failing parts or an oversized system.
  • Weak airflow. Sometimes it's the equipment, sometimes the ducts. Since we do both, we find the real cause.

Refrigerant leak repair and recharge

If your system is low on refrigerant, it has a leak. Topping it off without fixing the leak only buys a few weeks. We locate the leak, repair it when it's repairable, and recharge the system to the manufacturer's specification.

Capacitor and motor replacement

Florida heat is hard on capacitors and fan motors, and they're the most common reason an AC won't start. These are usually same-visit repairs.

AC drain line cleaning

Algae and sludge grow fast in condensate lines here. A clogged line can back up, overflow the drain pan or shut the system off. We clear the line and can add a treatment to slow regrowth. Read more in why Florida AC drain lines clog.

Repair or replace?

We'll tell you honestly. If a repair makes sense, we'll fix it. If your system is old and the repair is expensive, we'll show you both options, including a new system, and let you decide.

Fortex cleaned our dryer vent quite nicely. There was quite a bit of lint buildup, and they did a thorough job cleaning it out. The dryer seems to be getting better airflow now. Good service and easy to work with.

So here's what happened. I'd been putting off dryer vent cleaning for way too long. Finally got to the point where I couldn't ignore it anymore. Called around to a few air duct places and most either didn't pick up or gave me a vague quote …

Why is water leaking from my AC?

In Florida it's usually a clogged condensate drain line. Algae builds up in the line until water backs up into the pan and overflows.

Yes. You get the diagnosis and the price first. No work starts until you approve it.

Are you open on weekends?

Yes. We're open every day, 6 AM to 8 PM, including weekends.
